The Story Called Life
How do we fit into the story called life?
I’m struggling to write about the enlightenment given to me. I understood this enlightenment months ago. I’m finding it difficult to compose the words for others to understand too.
The words come in bits and pieces. I’m jotting them down in the word cloud above. In-between the dashes are words such as fear, pain, suffering, and dysfunctional mindset. These words describe the conditions that I lived in for years until the Lord rescued me.
They describe the conditions mankind is living in today.
Mankind is born into a world of darkness with sinful conditions. In the darkness, our flesh, carnal mind and the spirit of man are bound by the chains of sin. Mankind lacks the trust needed to set them free from the bondages of sin.
In the darkness, the prince of the power of the air is the supreme ruler. He guides the eternal fate of those who become lost in his world of darkness with evil imaginations. Satan’s purpose is to keep you away from God, his everlasting love and gift of eternal life.
He comes to rob, kill, steal and destroy you. The prince is a powerful evil force for mankind to fight alone. He is the father of lies and deception is his weapon of choice. Without God’s help, we are helpless and hopeless in our battle against the evil forces in this dark world.
God, how do we fit into your story called life?
Your story called life is the one that people need to read. You’re the only one that can rescue them from this secret darkness. Your son, the Lord Jesus Christ is the only one who can save those who become lost in the world of darkness. He won the battle on the cross at Calvary.
God’s story called life began centuries ago when he created the heavens and the earth. In the beginning, when “darkness was upon the face of the deep.”
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. And the earth was without form; and, void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.” Genesis 1:1-5KJV
The scoffers of God distrust his story of creation and him. They don’t believe in his existence or understand his word. They don’t believe that our story, mankind’s story is part of God’s story called life.
Blinded to the truth, they walk in the darkness through the wide gate and following the broad way, which leads to destruction.
“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” Matthew 7:13-14 KJV
They fail to comprehend that our story call life began when God breathed the breath of life into man and man became a living soul. Without God, mankind would not exist.
“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul.” Genesis 2:7 KJV
Then God said,
“Man should not be alone; I will make a help meet for him.” Genesis 2: 18 KJV
God created a woman from the rib of Adam and brought her to him.
“And the LORD God said, it is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature that was the name thereof.
And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said, this is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.” Genesis 2: 18-25 KJV
Non-believers continue to scoff at God’s story called life. A scoffer of God just doesn’t believe this story as being the truth. They believe a lie; we evolved from a primate to human form.
The unbelieving don’t understand the chronicle of the two trees that were in the midst of the garden of Eden. They fail to comprehend the command God had given to the man Adam.
“And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the Garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” Genesis 2: 15-17 KJV
The importance of the two trees and the story behind them eludes those lost in the darkness.
The serpent placed seeds of doubt in the mind of the woman (Eve). The serpent questioned the command God had given Adam and the woman (Eve). Asking the woman (Eve), “Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree in the garden?”
The woman (Eve) told the serpent the command God had given them. And the serpent continued placing seeds of doubt in the mind of the woman (Eve).
The woman (Eve) ultimately decided not to “trust” God. The woman (Eve) chose to trust the serpent and his word (the lie) rather than trusting God and his word (the truth).
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. Genesis 3 1-6 KJV
The woman (Eve) and the man Adam distrusted the command or word God had given them. They sought to become wise in their mind. The penalty for that disobedience was immediate physical punishment (enduring hardships) for the three of them. And the penalty for trusting the serpent (Satan) instead of trusting God (the sin) was death.
Notice in this passage of scripture the serpent says;
“your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.”
When Adam and the woman (Eve) ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil their eyes and minds were opened to the knowledge of good and evil. Their mindset was changed from unknowing good and evil to knowing good (the light) and evil (the darkness). They knew that they were naked. They hadn’t known previously and were not ashamed.
The eyes of them were both opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked?
Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. Genesis 3 7-12 KJV
Do you notice what Adam and the woman (Eve) did when they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day?
Yes, they “hid” themselves from the presence of the LORD God. Adam said to God, “I was “afraid” because I was naked; and I hid myself.”
Adam had obtained the knowledge of good (the light) and evil (the darkness) from eating of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Adam hid in the darkness with fear because he knew he was naked, and that he had disobeyed the command of God.
The knowledge of evil (the darkness) and everything in the darkness (fear, death, murder, lie, hate, and every evil thing) came unto mankind the moment they disobeyed God and ate from that tree.
Mankind now knew the good ways of God and the evil ways of the darkness. The mindset of mankind was now corrupt and susceptible to evil imaginations. The devil had gained power over the mindset of mankind.
Mankind has acquired the knowledge of good and evil (the darkness) due to their not trusting God. The vast amount of knowledge mankind has acquired from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil blinded them to the simple truth in God’s story called life.
Listen to the command of God, trust in God and his way for us to live and always obey the Word of God.
The knowledge of good and evil has been a dark curse to mankind. The acquired knowledge is “the curse” and the main source of the dysfunctional mindset we have in the world today. Yes, our patterns of thinking are dysfunctional, even the elite.
We have become as gods with the knowledge of good and evil.
“And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.” Genesis 3: 22-24
And with this knowledge, mankind has created man-made things like God, explored the universe, and is trying to solve our problems in life, without our creator.
In doing so, we walk in darkness with evil imaginations. God’s way to live is not our way. The broad path we have chosen to travel on will lead to death and destruction. We have become as fools to God.
Scoff at God’s story called life if you wish. But, God’s story called life is the truth, and his word shall stand forever.
God is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, and the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. And the Lord is coming back to earth one day. I pray that you believe in him and that you’re ready.
