Do you ask yourself, if God is real then why does God let me suffer?
When a person is asking this question, they have doubts about God’s existence and capabilities in their mind. They might even say that God can’t be real; he doesn’t heal me and lets me suffer continuously.
Why doesn’t God act quickly to help us recover?
I believe God is real, and that God can heal you, and quickly put an end to sufferings. I also think that we live in a world of instant gratification. We want what we want, and when we want it, and most times that’s right now.
We want a quick fix for our problems, sufferings, and the difficult situations we encounter in life. We have become somewhat lazy in the enduring department. The suffering we endure is painful, and it doesn’t feel good to us, and no one enjoys suffering in pain or struggling with problems.
God can heal us in an instant, fix our problems, and make us feel better sooner. And this will indeed save us lots of pain and long-term suffering.
However, the deliverance wouldn’t last very long.
How do I know?
I have suffered a great deal in life. I know how it feels to suffer in pain and to struggle with problems. I have endured child abuse and domestic violence and suffered the loss of children due to domestic abuse.
God has rescued me out of those struggles. God healed the pain and anguish inside and delivered me from the fear, guilt and shame. God has renewed my mind and transformed my life throughout the delivery process.
Do you know how long God’s delivery process took?
It took 20 years for me to experience God’s deliverance and healing from those sufferings.
Yes, that’s right.
I said, 20 years.
God’s healing and deliverance came but, it wasn’t pain-free and didn’t include instant gratification. God didn’t provide me with a quick fix solution.
I have a question for you!
If God were to put an end to your sufferings and fixed all your problems right now, what would you learn during the delivery process?
I’ll tell you, NOTHING AT ALL.
You wouldn’t learn the valuable lessons that come out of your struggles and sufferings. I almost dare to say that you would be suffering again soon in the future too.
That’s why it took me 20 years to experience God’s healing and deliverance. God had valuable lessons for me to learn along the way, and each lesson strengthened me and made my faith in God that much stronger.
God was building me a solid foundation in Christ, and each struggle that I endured added another brick to this foundation.
God took his time in healing and bring me out of those struggles. God’s time frame was not mine, and he didn’t deliver me in an instant with gratification that felt good for a fleeting moment.
Like Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, God allows us to make our choices in life. After all, he has given us the free will to choose. God knows what’s best for us but, he still allows us to choose the course of action we will take in our life.
God gave me free will and allowed me to make unhealthy choices in life. These unhealthy choices lead to me enduring three and one-half years of domestic violence and to experiencing the loss of children. The pain, fear, and guilt associated with these experiences were tremendous.
I think God knew, that I would have reverted to the same old mindset had he ended the suffering sooner. God knew that healing me in an instant was not in my best interest and that it wouldn’t work for the long-term.
As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly. (Proverbs 26:11)
Like the dog that returneth to his vomit. I would have returned to my folly until I learned the lessons that were essential for me to heal in mind and grow in spirit.
God had provided a way for me and you to experience his healing powers.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16 KJV)
God gave his only begotten Son (Jesus), to die for our sins on the cross, and who so ever shall believe in him shall be saved. God provided the way; it was up to me to accept this healing thru faith in Jesus Christ.
Jesus is the way to experience true healing and deliverance. God gave you the freedom of choice, and it’s your decision to take action or not to take action.
The best course of action we can take when we are experiencing struggles in life is to have faith and seek God in prayer. Pray to God for his guidance in your life and ask him to help you through your struggles.
Ask God to show you the lessons that you need to learn in life.
God can heal and deliver you from your sufferings, and teach you how to have a relationship with him. God will redeem you in time. Have faith in Christ Jesus, and know that God is with you always. He will never leave you nor will he ever forsake you.
I pray the Lord will help you through the struggles you encounter in life.
