Why Am I Suffering?

Asking the question, “why am I suffering?” with an open mind has enabled me to discover the truth and the only solution to overcome all difficulties in life.

I understand the struggles you are or have faced in life. The pain and anguish you carry around with you. I walked a mile in your shoes! You can have freedom from suffering and overcome all difficulties in life.

You can have an abundant life!

I have spent a lifetime in search of “why” having come from a dysfunctional family with hardly any knowledge or spiritual guidance for adult life. I wandered around in the darkness blindly with a dysfunctional mindset for twenty years. I suffered through years of emotional anguish, physical pain and mental abuse.

I questioned;

  • Why did my parents let me get married at eighteen to an abusive man?
  • Why didn’t they stop me?
  • Why didn’t they help me?
  • How could they let me make decisions on my own?

I was totally unprepared for adult life.

I often wondered;

  • Why was my husband abusive?
  • How could anyone inflict such pain and anguish onto another person without a second thought?

I couldn’t understand how anyone could be so cruel to another human being.

I’m not alone; everyone endures pain and goes through some form of suffering in life. A large number of people are struggling in silence with adversities today.

What are you suffering from today?

  • Fear
  • Guilt
  • Shame
  • Feeling Unloved
  • Poor Self-Image
  • Hurt
  • Depression
  • Addiction
  • Emotional Anguish
  • Anger

I understand your struggles; I’ve walked a mile in your shoes.

I have suffered through each one of those ten choices at one time or another throughout life. I was walking down the wrong path and became trapped in the world of darkness.

I was living in fear and with guilt and shame. I felt tremendous guilt and shame for leaving my children behind, never to return out of fear of being killed. I felt downtrodden, unloved, had a poor self-image, and was deeply hurt and experienced emotional anguish.

I found the way to overcome all difficulties; I’ll illuminate a path to freedom; so you can live an abundant life.

Right Path Wrong Path

THE WRONG PATH

The main reason “why” people are suffering is because there traveling on the wrong path.

When you take the wrong road in life, you will go through pain and emotional anguish. You will suffer needlessly that’s a given. Walking on this path, you lack the proper guidance or directions necessary to live an abundant life.

The path you’re traveling on today has been set in advance by your upbringing (e.g. parents, grandparents, legal guardian, step-parents, foster parents, and surroundings). This raising has determined the mindset (e.g. mental attitude, beliefs, feelings, values, and dispositions to act in certain ways) that you carry into adulthood. And this mentality will determine the choices and decisions you make in life.

When you’re walking on the wrong path, you have a dysfunctional mindset and continuously make unhealthy choices in life. These costly mistakes cause you unnecessary pain and emotional anguish.

Making unhealthy choices in life is unavoidable when you’re traveling on the wrong path.

What unhealthy choices have you made?

  • Teenage Pregnancy
  • Promiscuous Sexual Behavior
  • Stealing
  • Abusive Behavior
  • Murder
  • Abortion
  • Cause Violent Conflicts
  • Lie
  • Alcohol Abuse
  • Drug Abuse

I’ve been in your shoes and made numerous unhealthy choices.

Don’t feel bad we all make bad decisions, and unhealthy choices were human. The cost of those mistakes is what keeps you trapped in the darkness with fear and downtrodden in life. The consequences that you experience can plague your mind with unwelcome thoughts and over time, you can become oppressed.

However, there is a way to recover from the effects of unhealthy choices and bad decisions. There is a way for you to overcome all difficulties and live an abundant life.

The first step is to understand what the wrong path is according to the Word of God.

STEP #1 – UNDERSTANDING THE WRONG PATH

In the Word of God, the wrong path is called “the broad way that leadeth destruction.”  This passageway is wide and broad and will lead you down the path towards destruction.

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Matthew 7: 13-14 KJV

The broad way is humankind’s way of viewing and doing things in life. The people who chose to walk on this path are worldly in nature, and their mindset is dysfunctional or carnal. They don’t place their trust in the Lord Jesus Christ or comprehend the Word of God.

When you travel down the wrong path, towards destruction, you will be walking in the world of darkness with evil imaginations and adverse conditions. This world is ruled by the powerful forces of evil, your adversary the devil or Satan. You’ll be inadvertently fighting against the powerful forces of evil alone.

That’s a battle you will never win alone my friends.

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. 1 Peter 5: 6-9 KJV

Many people have chosen to travel down the wrong path in life. Perhaps unknowingly, but the right path has a straight passageway and the way to an abundant life is narrow, and “few” individuals find it.

In Luke 13:24 Jesus said,

Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. Luke 13:24 KJV

Many will seek to enter in, and have an abundant life, and shall not be able to without trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ. He is “the way”, the “only way” to an abundant life.

THE RIGHT PATH

The second step is to understand what the right path is according to the Word of God.

STEP #2 – THE RIGHT PATH – THE PATH TO FREEDOM

The right path is not readily noticeable to those who are walking down the wrong path. Their eyes and minds are blinded to the truth by the knowledge of good and evil.

The right passageway or gate is strait, and the path you must be traveling on is narrow. When your walking on this road, your course of conduct will be guided and established by the Word of God. The Word of God will give you spiritual guidance and the proper direction that you must be traveling in life.

This path is narrow so you must be vigilant in your daily walk with Jesus. The powerful forces of evil, your adversary the devil or Satan is still roaming about seeking whom he can enslave for life and devour for eternity.

When you take the right path in life, by trusting in Jesus Christ as your personal savior you will have life more abundantly.

In John 10:7-10 Jesus said,

Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life and that they might have it more abundantly. John 10:7-10 KJV

Jesus is the way; he is the door or gate that you need to enter through to have an abundant life.

Jesus came so that you could have life, and have it more abundantly. He wants to ease your sufferings and to heal the wounds from a broken past.

Only the Lord Jesus Christ can take away the sorrow and emptiness that fills your heart. When you decide to trust in him, he will fill your heart with an abundance of eternal peace and everlasting love.

Jesus knows you’re not perfect, and he chose to die for you despite the fact.

Joy should fill your heart knowing that you’re loved just the way you are, flaws and all. Trust in the Lord and you will be forgiven of all past sins and shall begin a new abundant life in Christ.

When you chose to believe in Jesus as your person savior, you will walk out of the world of darkness into the light of Christ by faith. Life will be more abundant now because you have chosen to trust in Jesus Christ. All the former things shall pass away in time you will renew your mindset with the Word of God.

Now the choices and decisions you make in life will be guided by the Word of God. They will be healthier choices that will lead to an abundant life in Christ.

The third step is to choose which path you’re going to walk in life.

STEP #3 – CHOOSE A PATH

The Lord is calling you to trust in him. He wants to ease your burdens and put an end to your sufferings. The question is “will you trust in him?” Think about that question for a moment. The benefits of believing in the Lord Jesus Christ far outweigh the results of following the wrong path.

Once you decide to trust in Jesus Christ, you must confess with your mouth and believe in your heart, and you become saved.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. Romans 10:9-11 KJV

Pray to the Lord, Yes Jesus, I believe in you, I believe with all my heart that God has raised you from the dead. Please come to me Lord and rescue me from the world of darkness. Amen!

If you decided to pray that prayer, please feel free to share the good news below.

I want to rejoice with you!

God Bless, Linda M Carleton
