Why do you stumble and grope in the darkness?
The Lord has set you free and called you to walk in the light of Christ.
The foundation of my life was not solid. It had immoral cracks and spiritual imperfections. I was misguided, lead astray, and lacked the biblical guidance needed for an abundant life.
As I blindly traveled down the road of life the path way became as utter darkness. I was distressed, inflicted with adversity and struggled through the trials of life in anguish.
My heart experienced agonize emotional pain over and over again. I felt unloved, lived in fear, built up anger, and experienced mental turmoil and anguish.
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: Colossians 1: 13 KJV
I was given a “new life” in Jesus Christ and started walking in the light of Christ with the Lord. I sought to learn the Word of God, His ways to live and to follow the narrow path set before me.
I still carried the weight of past afflictions and bore emotional burdens.
The emotional burdens wreck havoc on the mind and spirit. The mental anguish keeps you trapped in a cycle of defeat. Trying to fix the afflictions and carry the burdens alone, I became physically exhausted and mentally worn out.
I was stumbling and groping in the darkness.
We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men. Isaiah 59: 10 KJV
God’s Divine Intervention
It’s difficult to walk out of the darkness and in the light of Christ in your strength. In fact, it’s impossible to accomplish in your strength. To be transformed into a Child of God who walks upright in the light of Christ requires God’s divine intervention.
Groping in the darkness, I made more unhealthy choices and decision, and pain and suffering continued to plague me. I began reminiscing on past events in life, and wondered “why do I always suffer?”
I declared it wasn’t my fault and identified myself as a victim of abuse, not sin. The truth is, I was a victim of both. The darkness of sin is a heavy weight; it crushes the spirit down low and mentally drains you.
The effects of “SIN” had taken its toll!
Earnestly Seek God
I longed to find answers and a solution, to ease the pain of these burdens. My unstable emotions crave stability, and heart deeply desired to be loved and satisfy an empty void. My heart started seeking out ways to accomplish physical healing and mental restoration.
Finally, I began to earnestly “seek GOD” with all of my heart.
Walking in the light of Christ requires physical action. It calls for absolute dedication and decisive choice of direction. It requires you to seek God with all of your mind and heart.
Only then will God provide you with mental restoration, cleansing of the heart and spiritual revival. It can only be accomplished by the power of the “Holy Spirit” in you.
The transformation process of living in the spiritual darkness of sin to walking in the light of Christ with the Holy Spirit is different for everyone. It’s a personal experience and no two experiences will be the same.
God will restore you when you earnestly seek to know and desire with all of your heart to love and obey Him. God will move you from the place of being called out of darkness to the place of being chosen to be a Child of God.
For many are called, but few are chosen. Matthew 24: 13 KJV
Only then will God reveal the truth of His divine wisdom to you. Then you can see how the events of your past lead up to this moment in life. You can see His guidance and protection throughout your life. You become aware of the real enemy and learn how to defeat the powers of darkness.
Through the eyes of God’s grace, you will comprehend His unconditional love for you. You are overjoyed in knowing God has always loved you, cared for you and guided your path in life.
His corrective hand has been upon you when needed. He allowed the suffering of adversity to happen “for you” (I thank Joe Amoia for this truth) to learn valuable life lessons. Life lessons we learn through the destructive choices and disobedient decision we make in life.
We stumble and grope in darkness until we decide to trust in Jesus Christ, to seek God with all of our heart and walk in obedience to the Word of God.
